Attempt at world's longest paper-clip chain
Folks in Schodack are hoping they've created the world’s longest paperclip chain. They did it all to raise funds and awareness for Hunter Sanchez, a fourth grader at Maple Hill Middle School. Hunter has been diagnosed with a rare hip disorder called Leg/Calf Perthes Disease.

"So many of the families here in Schodack decided to get together and do something communitywide to help Hunter and his family," Lorrie Pizzola said.

"As the time progressed, we realized we had to work faster and faster, so we all started to work together more," Sean Danaher said.

Hunter has undergone a specialized surgery at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore that may give him a chance to walk, run, and play again.

The paperclip chain is over 22 miles long, and over a million paper clips were used. They should know if they broke the world record by late Sunday.
