COLONIE, N.Y. -- Ted DuPuis has logged a lot of miles in the sky, all to save the lives of homeless animals. DuPuis owns Cloud Nine Rescue Flights. The organization takes dogs from over populated shelters and flies them to locations where they have a better chance of being adopted.
DuPuis says the 26 dogs on Sunday's flight would have been put down if they weren't relocated. Nine dogs were dropped off at the Albany Airport; others will head to New Hampshire. DuPuis started making the trips a year a half ago and is saving more animals than ever.
"Twenty six is actually a new record for us. We've never had that many dogs on the plane at once. But we're going to break the record next weekend,” said Ted Dupis.
The flights operate entirely off donations. If you'd like to make a donation, please visit
