ALBANY, N.Y. -- The City of Albany and our parent company Time Warner Cable are joining together to offer the community more public access.
On Monday, members of the common council announced a new ten year franchise agreement that would allow funding for public education and government programming. The program is called P.E.G or "Public Education Government."
Under the new program, the three public access channels will broadcast common council board of zoning appeals and also be used as a source for emergency notices. It will also provide citizens the venue to air events such as neighborhood association meetings.
The library board still needs to approve the endeavor. If passed, the three channels will be up and running by this summer.
