Troy man faces up to 75 years for stabbing three people after Larkfest
ALBANY, N.Y. -- A Troy man accused of stabbing three people after Larkfest has been found guilty of three counts of first-degree assault. Anthony Harden, 30, now faces up to 25 years in prison for each of the three counts.
The Albany County District Attorney's office said the incident happened on September 19 as a group of friends walked home from Larkfest. The group included an Army soldier and six UAlbany students, including the soldier's wife and twin brother.
Harden was a passenger in a vehicle that had to come to an abrupt stop because the soldier's wife was still in the intersection while crossing Henry Johnson Boulevard at State Street. There was an exchange of words, but the groups appeared to go their separate ways.
A short time later, the DA's office said Harden got out of the vehicle, took off his shirt and pursued the group up State Street where he punched the soldier and broke his nose. During the struggle, the DA said Harden took out a knife and stabbed the soldier, his twin brother and another UAlbany student. Harden apparently yelled, "I live for this; this is what I do!"
Sentencing is scheduled for April 1.
The case against Harden's girlfriend for her role in the incident is pending in Albany City Court.
During the incident, one of the students took a picture of Harden running at him.
