ALBANY, N.Y. -- Dozens of teen activists gathered in Albany to support sex education in state schools. The event was part of the annual Youth Leadership Conference hosted by the Family Planning Advocates of New York.

The event is designed to teach young people how to better reach lawmakers to advocate for issues that are important to them and they say that message is working.

"I think I'm going to make a difference, not only here today, but probably the rest of my life, I hope," said Mohonasen High School senior Julianna Pasquarella.

The teens represented Planned Parenthood, the New York Civil Liberties Union and other youth development programs.
