ALBANY, N.Y. -- The Neapolitan Music Society teamed up with the Albany High School Orchestra to put on a concert this weekend.
The Neapolitan Society teaches students classical Italian music that they wouldn't otherwise get the chance to play.
Society leaders have been giving lessons at Albany High and have donated 25 violins to the school in an effort to help young musicians study classical music. Students say working with the guest musicians was challenging, but rewarding.
"It’s really exciting to be a part of an opportunity like this and to have these guests artists come to Albany High School. It was a good experience for everybody in the orchestra, not just me. I think we all benefited from it,” said Meredith Parmalee, Albany High School junior.
The Neapolitan music society has raised enough money through fund raisers to donate more instruments to Albany High.
