ALBANY, N.Y. -- "There's no business like show business, like no business I know."

Park Playhouse kicked off its 22nd season of free theatre in Albany with a production of "Annie Get Your Gun." The story of sharp shooter Annie Oakley is being performed nightly at the Time Warner Cable stage in Washington Park.

This year, Park Playhouse is under new leadership, which promises an exciting future. Changes will include producing multiple shows each season, plus a focus on getting more kids involved in the arts.

"So many people have their first experience with live theatre at Park Playhouse. So many kids have never seen a play before. They sit out in the audience, they meet our cast, and it's a magical thing and for them they'll never forget this is theatre and that's a movie and I like theatre. That's what we're trying to do here," said Owen W. Smith, Park Playhouse Producing Artistic Director.

You can catch "Annie Get Your Gun" Tuesday through Sunday nights at 8 p.m. through August 15th. The show is free to the public, thanks to the City of Albany and corporate sponsors, including our parent company, Time Warner Cable.
