Everybody knows, if you have kids the way you bring them up will affect them for their entire life. It's important to remember, the way you encourage your child's creativity can make a difference.

Creativity depends upon making mistakes and being playful. Applaud your child's imagination when he draws wings on a kitten or writes using misspelled words.

"When children are at play let say out in the yard, or something like that, we feel a great desire to step in and show them how to do it right you know what let them do it on their own and eventually it's the best way they will figure it out on their own," said Dr. Manny Cirenza.

Reining in an energetic, talkative, or spontaneous child because you prefer quiet may short-circuit their creative impulses.

"Children need freedom very often we are caught up and pigeon hole into either certain workshops or programs," Cirenza said.

Going easy on the rewards. Research links kids' creativity with their intrinsic motivation; praise or reward them too much and you zap both. Refrain from praising every drawing your child makes, or if you must comment, remark on his originality or effort rather than the results.

A spotless bedroom may stifle your child creativity where everything is organized and neat , lower your standards, if you don't, the child may not want to engage in messy art or experiment it's important to allow them some freedom."

"It is us that is caught up with a clean room because we are frustrated and we want order in our lives and when we try to impose that upon our children they can really struggle with that," said Cirenza.
