RENSSELAER, N.Y. -- A fire broke out at a home in Rensselaer. Officials say it happened around 8 p.m. Wednesday at nine Pine Street.
Firefighters saw heavy smoke as soon as they got there. Officials say since Rensselaer is on a hill, they had to pump water up to the house, which took some time. The fire was then quickly put out.
According to officials, there were six children and two adults in the house at the time of the fire, but no one was injured.
The investigation into what caused the fire continues.
