SERVES:
4-6 as an appetizer
INGREDIENTS:
3-pounds chicken wings
2 Tbs honey
2 Tbs olive oil
2 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp kosher salt
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp ground cumin
PROCEDURE:
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
Use a small mixing bowl to combine 2 tsp smoked paprika with 1 tsp kosher salt, 1/2 tsp garlic powder and 1 tsp ground cumin and mix that up.
Use another large mixing bowl to combine 2 Tbs honey with 2 Tbs olive oil and mix that up. Then toss the chicken wings in that to coat, and sprinkle the spice mixture over the top of that and toss to coat.
Line a heavy bottomed baking tray with aluminum foil to help with clean up later on. Spread the wings out on that and pop the tray onto the center rack of the preheated oven.
Let the wings go like that for about 25 minutes on the first side, and then flip them over and let them go for another 25 minutes or so until they've got a good deep color and are cooked all the way through.
HINTS:
These wings are tasty but in a mild way...you can add an extra tsp of smoked paprika and salt to the mix to kick it up a notch.
You can find smoked paprika in larger supermarkets or specialty food stores.
