LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. -- Mitt Romney's choice of Rep. Paul Ryan as a running mate does not appear to be helping his campaign in New York. President Obama maintains a 30-point lead over Romney in the Empire State. That's according to a new poll by the Siena Research Institute.

The majority of New Yorkers agree with Obama on two of the election's most prominent issues: healthcare and taxes.

By a 23-point margin, voters here prefer the president's healthcare plan, one Romney says he'll repeal if elected commander-in-chief.

By a similar margin, voters support the president's plan to eliminate tax cuts for those earning more than $250,000 a year.

Steve Greenberg from the Siena Research Institute stopped by YNN to talk about the poll.
