YNN.com: Now Enhanced For TWC Customers

We've upgraded YNN.com to include expanded content for Time Warner Cable customers and those who receive YNN from other providers – and more new features are on the way. Want more information? Have a problem with the enhanced site? Here are the answers.

General Information

What's the story behind this upgrade?

The websites for Time Warner Cable's 24-hour news channels – including NY1 News, NY1 Noticias, YNN, and News 14 Carolina – have expanded to offer new features for Time Warner Cable customers who subscribe to TWC video (TV) service.

The expanded video content includes a new web-only weather forecast, plus expanded long-form news interviews and extended on-location footage. In the future, Time Warner Cable TV subscribers will also be able to comment on our articles and receive e-mail alerts for top news stories.

In order to access our full, enhanced site, Time Warner Cable customers must sign in to YNN.com using their Time Warner Cable username and password – the same ID used to access TWC's online bill pay service, stream TV shows from WatchESPN and HBO GO, access the TWC TV mobile apps, and use Remote DVR manager, Phone Manager, and other TWC services.

This ID is free of charge to all TWC TV subscribers, and there is no additional charge for the enhanced website content. However TWC subscribers with only high-speed data or phone service will need to upgrade to a video subscription to be able to fully access the upgraded site.

Those without a TWC ID can access a lite version of the site, which does not include video or other exclusive features.

Customers of Cablevision who receive NY1 News on their cable line-up have automatic access to our site's video clips as they always have.

If you've already set up your TWC ID, you're all ready to access the enhanced YNN.com. If not, you can register for your TWC ID by following the instructions below.

How do I sign in for full site access?

To access the full site, you must sign in with your Time Warner Cable username and password. This is the same username and password used to access TWC's online bill pay service, stream TV shows from WatchESPN and HBO GO, access the TWC TV mobile apps, and use Remote DVR manager, Phone Manager, and other TWC services.

If you haven't set up your Time Warner Cable username and password yet, you can easily do so on the TWC Registration Page by entering your e-mail address and following the registration instructions.

Once you have a Time Warner Cable username and password, you can sign in from any page on the site by clicking on the words "Sign In Here" near the top of the page.

The full newschannel sites are only available to Time Warner Cable customers who subscribe to TWC's video services. This means that TWC customers who have only high-speed data or phone service must upgrade to a video subscription to be able to fully access the upgraded sites. You can order TWC video service on the Time Warner Cable Ordering Page.

Troubleshooting

When I go to sign in, I get a message saying "Your Time Warner Cable subscription does not currently include access to this programming."

First make sure that you subscribe to TWC's video (TV) services. If you're a TWC customer who has only high-speed data or phone service, you must upgrade to a video subscription to be able to fully access the upgraded sites. You can order TWC video service on the Time Warner Cable Ordering Page.

When I visit the site, the introductory pop-up box ("We're adding new features") appears repeatedly and won't go away.

In many instances you can solve this problem by clearing your browser cookies, the small files used by websites to store your browsing preferences.

If you're using Internet Explorer, go to the "Tools" menu, choose "Delete Browsing History," click the "Cookies" checkbox and press "Delete."

In Firefox, under the "Tools" menu, choose "Clear Recent History" and delete Cookies for the time range of "Everything."

In Safari, under the "Safari" menu, choose "Preferences" then click on the "Privacy" tab then click the "Remove all website data" button.

After clearing your cookies, the problem should not reappear.

In some instances, your browser may be too old for the pop-up to operate properly. This site is optimized for Internet Explorer 8 and higher, Firefox 10 and higher, Safari 5 and higher, and Chrome 16 and higher. If you have one of these browsers, or another modern browser or device, but you're still having problems with the site, contact us at support@ynn.com and let us know the make and version of your web browser and operating system.

I'm experiencing additional issues with the site.
