Firefighters battle large fire in Corinth
CORINTH, N.Y. -- A furnace malfunction is to blame for the large overnight fire on Main Street in Corinth.
Fire investigators are still looking into why the smoke detectors didn't go off in the three buildings that were destroyed by the fire.
Firefighters were on the scene for hours after the fire broke out just before 11 p.m. Monday.

No one was injured in the fire, but because of the demand on the water supply, people living in Corinth were asked to conserve water. That order has since been lifted. Schools were also closed because of the fire.
Tim Lupo lived in an apartment above the furniture store where the fire started and said he got out safely but lost everything.
"I have nothing left," he said. "Thank God the cats got out and the old man got out, but yeah, I have nothing."
