Toy safety through milk cartons
ALBANY, N.Y. -- It does a body good, but now is can help keep children safe, too.

The New York State Consumer Protection Board unveiled a plan to print toy safety information on more than one-and-a-half million half-pint milk cartons a week in the Capital Region and in New York City.

Drink milk and kids can join the CPB's Max Safe Toy Club, which is aimed to keep kids safe from hazardous toys.

“Of course we've been reaching out to children, because we are bringing the topic directly to the people, to the consumers who are most affected, the kids who use and play with these toys,” said Mindy Bockstein, NYS CPB Chairperson and Executive Director.

The program is a joint effort between the consumer protection board and New York State Dairy Foods. Producers Elmhurst Dairy and Mohawk Dairy are putting the information on their cartons.
