The presidential race is expected to get a record number of voters to the polls, and both parties hope the added voters will help their local candidates here in New York.
Waterford Mayor J. Bert Mahoney (R) said, "New York is a very Democratic state so it's kind of tough, but I would hope he does well enough to help some of our candidates."
Obama field organizer Corey Ellis (D) said, "We believe, some people have coined it, a Democrat tsunami, and we believe that tsunami will happen in our state, especially in our local races and our state races."
Polls open at 6 a.m. Tuesday.
