Amtrak extends cancellations
ALBANY, N.Y. -- The winter storm has caused Amtrak to extend cancellations due to downed trees on the railroad.
The cancellations for Empire Service (Albany - New York City) and Downeaster Service (Boston - Portland, Maine) have been extended through the rest of the day. No alternate transportation is available due to hazardous road conditions.

Amtrak has also cancelled its Maple Leaf Service (Toronto - New York City), trains 63 and 64, with no alternate transportation provided.
Connecting service for the Lake Shore Limited, trains 448 and 449, is also cancelled with alternate transportation provided between Boston and Albany. The Lake Shore Limited will operate between Albany and Chicago.
