Foreclosure prevention help
ALBANY, N.Y. -- As housing foreclosure rates continue to climb across the country, more than a hundred housing counselors right here in the Capital Region are being trained specifically in foreclosure to be able to assist homeowners in danger of losing their homes in the Capital District and throughout the state.

"Nobody wins with foreclosure. The lenders lose, the borrowers lose, the neighbors lose, the community loses. That is why community based groups are the way the state really has focused its efforts to try and stop this problem," said Brian Lawlor of the New York State Division of Housing.
