"Women for Tedisco" show support
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- Whichever candidate democrats chose to replace Kirsten Gillibrand, he or she will run against Republican Assembly Minority Leader James Tedisco in the special election. Tedisco has secured support from the GOP, and this weekend, a large group of women is showing he has their backing, as well.
"I'll tell you, I've been to a few rose gardens, but I've never been the one thorn surrounded by so many lovely roses,” said Assembly Minority Leader Jim Tedisco.
The new grassroots group, "Women for Tedisco" held a rally in Saratoga Springs to show their support for his bid for the 20th Congressional District seat.
The co-chair of the organization says Tedisco has a proven record of standing up for women and other issues the voters care about.

"He has represented us as an assemblyman for over 25 years. He listens to his constituents and he reacts to what they have to say. He never forgets where he comes from. He takes the time that's necessary to learn the issues in his district and then he takes them back to now the Assembly and will be the Congress,” said Co-Chairwoman Kathy Marcione.
Democrats have yet to choose a candidate to run against Tedisco in the special election.
A date for that election still has not been set.
