Last Troy hardware store closing
TROY, N.Y. -- It looks like tough times are hitting the tool belt. Troy's last hardware store is going out of business.
According to the Troy Record, in a couple of weeks, Trojan Hardware Company will close up shop for good. The company has been in business since 1915, but the current owner tells the record the development of box stores such as Lowe's and Home Depot and the state of the economy over the past six months has encouraged him to shut down and retire.
The paper reports from now until their final day, the store will be selling items in stock with a 40 percent discount.
