MALTA, N.Y. -- The weekend's here. If you're hoping to catch a movie and save some cash, consider taking a drive.

Moviegoers at the Malta Drive-In say if the economy's got you down, this is the place to see a film on the big screen. You can also bring your own snacks to save money.

The Malta Drive-In theater opened for the season Friday night. It's one of a handful of drive-in theaters left in the Capital Region.

According to drive-ins.com, there are less than 400 drive-ins nationwide. When drive-ins were at their peak of popularity in the late 50s, there were more than 4,000 theaters.
