Dinosaur BBQ best joint in the nation
SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Dinosaur Barbecue in Syracuse took the national spotlight as the winner of Good Morning America's Best Barbecue in the country. The restaurant beat out three others in Texas, Alabama, and Iowa.
A crowd of Dinosaur fans were at the restaurant Sunday morning to support owner John Stage as he appeared on ABC's morning show by satellite.
They say that while upstate New Yorkers have known about Dinosaur for a long time, the national exposure will bring even more attention to the region.
"It's definitely going to bring more people. Like I was just telling him, I might need to make a reservation to park my bike now,” said Steve Ecker, Baldwinsville resident.

"Everyone in Syracuse knows it's been number one, but now it's national and everyone else knows about the barbecue in Upstate New York. I think John needs to expand the building for us now,” said Tim Rowland, Clay resident.
The other restaurants vying for the title were Cousin's BBQ in Fort Worth Texas, Woody's Smoke Shack in Des Moines Iowa, and Archibald's Barbeque in Northpole, Alabama.
