ALBANY, N.Y. -- "We're very excited, we head out early, we are usually out at six o'clock."
“I’ll be able to go out on Black Friday and go out by myself and pick out all the sweet deals I know there's going to be."
Despite the never ending lines and the long waits it is the door buster deals that motivates folks each year to get up extra early and shop on the day after Thanksgiving. Experts say this year won't be any different.
"There will be a lot of sales for electronics, there always are on black Friday weekend, for games and toys for the kids, clothing , toys, apparel, jewelry, you name it . It will be on sale, “said State Retail Council spokesperson Rebecca Flach.
State retail council spokesperson Rebecca Flach says they expect a big turnout this Black Friday. She says retailers have leaked black Friday sales plans earlier than usual, in hopes of pumping up demand.
But still, Flach says the deals won’t guarantee the retail industry will be making a comeback this year especially as consumers remain extra cautious in this unstable economy.
“Retailers know consumers are price conscious they may be trying to spread out the purchase this holiday season so that it softens the blow to the pocket. So they are responding by getting the sales out early for people so they can take a look at,” Flach said.
Flach says she expects Cyber Monday, which is the Monday after Black Friday to be successful as well. She also warms consumers if you there's a gift you really want to buy and you see it in stores on black Friday, you should take it, because there's a big chance you won’t see it again because retailers have ordered less merchandise this holiday season than in years past.
