CAPITAL REGION -- In the Capital Region, Time Warner Cable is showing off its new on-screen television guide. The navigation upgrade will start showing up for digital cable customers throughout this week.

New capabilities for the guide include more detailed show descriptions, increased parental control functions and more search options.

Time Warner Cable says the new system is more user-friendly than the existing guide that's been used for the past dozen years.

"It's quicker, it's easier, it's easier to read, plus there's also more choices in there. You'd think you put those two together and it would be more difficult to use. More choices, more confusing. But they put it together in a way that makes it simpler to use while putting the extra features in there," said Fred Henry, TWC Division Trainer.
