HUNTER, N.Y. -- "It's crazy and it's busy and it's great," said Jessica Pezak, communications director at Hunter Mountain. "This is the best thing that could have happened."

See it and ski it. Hunter Mountain got seven feet of snow in two storms in just five days. The mountain hasn't seen that amount of snow since 1958 and skiers said they had to see it to believe it.

"This is insane," said Adam Szyfman. "We came all the way from Philadelphia when we heard this was going to happen."

"It's probably the best conditions I've seen in 10 years," said Ken Kimball.

"They still think we're kidding," said Pezak. "I think they still think it's a joke, but once you get half way up the mountain road, you go from a couple inches on the ground to seven feet."

But could it be too much of a good thing?

"When I saw the snow removal equipment, augers that are about 6 feet wide and six feet tall, we knew it wouldn't be a problem," said Szyfman. "New York knows how to take care of their snow."

"This snow is perfect consistency," said Pezak. "It's going to stick around, pack down and give us a great base depth that's going to last us through March."
