SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- Schenectady County Community College breaks ground on a new housing complex.
The new suites will house more than 260 students and feature private bedrooms and bathrooms. Student Affairs Vice President Martha Asselin said it will give students a chance to enjoy downtown Schenectady.
"Our students are going to have a vibrant life experience that is blended with our community. We believe student housing is going to help us increase student enrollment and better retain our students when it comes to our graduation rate," Asselin said.
The suites will be located across from the college on Washington Avenue. They will be available for the 2012-2013 school year.
