SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – U.S. Marshals arrested the last outstanding suspect as part of "Operation: Clean Sweep." Local members of the Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Darius Smith, 29, as an accused member of the "Uptown Gang" or "Gunners Gang."
Smith was arrested around 3 p.m. Tuesday on James Street in Schenectady. He's one of 13 co-defendants accused of being involved in drug trafficking and robbery in the central and eastern parts of the city.
Twenty-three others were arrested in a series of raids in early April, and three more soon after.
Officials said Smith's arrest was the result of a month-long investigation by the U.S. Marshals Task Force.
