ALBANY, N.Y. -- One of the candidates for Albany County District Attorney hosts a campaign event on Saturday. Lee Kindlon officially kicked off his primary campaign in Albany. He will face off against incumbent David Soares in the Democratic Primary.

Kindlon is a defense attorney, and a former military prosecutor. He said people are ready for a change in the district attorney's office.

"Albany County's got the second highest crime rate in all of New York State. People are tired of that, people are tired of being afraid in their own homes, and they're out there looking for somebody else," said Kindlon.

District Attorney Soares is seeking a third term in office. He already has the endorsement of the Albany County Independent Party.
