TROY, N.Y. -- It's been a tradition in Troy at the Brown's Brewing Company that continued this year. The annual St. Patrick's Day blessing of the Bar took place Sunday afternoon.
A traditional ceremonial procession led by the Schenectady Pipes Band kicked off the event. The bar and the people there were then blessed by Pastor Ed Marcelle of Terra Nova Church, which actually holds their services just a few doors down at Brown's Revolution Hall.
"Bless the business, the Browns, the work of their hands, all those who labor here and the people who gather here. And all the people said, Amen,” said Ed Marcelle, Tera Nova Church Lead Pastor.
"Business was just so wonderful for us that we wanted to keep that tradition happening,” said Kelly Brown, Co-owner of Brown's Brewing Company.
The event also marked a special anniversary, 20 years! Brown's Brewing Company was founded in 1993 and was the first brewpub restaurant in the Capital Region.
