Fort Ann teacher charged with child endangerment
State police said Fort Ann fifth grade teacher and varsity basketball coach Jared Bromley is facing serious charges. The 26-year-old is accused of watching two students, one just 11 years old, expose themselves to him.

"The high school principal did a preliminary investigation of those allegations. They were serious enough that we turned them over to the state police," said Fort Ann Central School Superintendent Maureen VanBuren.

Police said Bromley is charged with one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child. They said he is not accused of any sexual contact with the two boys. But police said they are looking at multiple incidents at the school involving Bromley.
School Superintendent Maureen VanBuren said the district is cooperating with the investigation.

"We are doing everything we can to protect the safety and well being of the students," said VanBuren.

Administrators said, right now, these are just allegations and kids coming out after school were surprised at what they were hearing.

"Most kids like him. And most kids don't think he didn't do it at all," said one student.

"I don't think he did it. He's a good guy, good teacher, good
coach, good man," said another student.

As for parents, one said we should wait for the investigation to finish.

"If he is guilty, I don't know what the answer is. Background checks, I don't know. But you have to do what you have to do to protect our kids," said parent Dennis Fletcher.

VanBuren said Bromley is on administrative leave for now. Police said orders of protection were issued for each student.
