Carthage Area Hospital union workers plan to picket

Carthage Area Hospital union workers plan to picket
134 union workers at Carthage Area Hospital say they will begin picketing on Monday.

Since June 1st they've been working with out a contract. The Service Employees International Union Local 11-99 represents service, maintenance and clerical workers at the hospital.

Union spokesperson Kathy Tucker says the union wants a fair contract. The issues are health insurance, pension and wages.

Tucker says the union is planning to hold informational pickets starting Monday at the hospital's board members homes.

We did contact the hospital for comment and were unable to reach their spokesperson.
