The Pittsfield Fire Department quietly remembered those lost on September 11 with a dedication ceremony in front of Engine Company 5 on Pecks Road.
Thursday morning, members of the fire, police and sheriff's departments were on hand as a memorial was dedicated to three Pittsfield firefighters who lost their lives in the line of duty.
Pittsfield Fire Department Chief Stephen Duffy said, "I was fortunate enough to work with Mr. Jablonski, and I admire him and miss him. And every member of this department knows the names of the other two gentlemen, because they're legends."
Mayor Sara Hathaway asked people to reflect on the lessons learned from the tragedy two years ago and how it has changed their lives today.

Hathaway said, "Certainly I think if you are a member of the Pittsfield Fire Department you can look yourself in the mirror in the morning and say, I'm doing the right things, I'm serving public safety, I'm serving my community."
Following the ceremony, a "Red Mass" was held at St. Charles Church to remember all those lost in the attacks of September 11, 2001.
