Amare Stoudemire poured in 36 points and pulled down 11 rebounds in leading the Second Year Stars to an easy 142-to-118 win over the Rookie Stars in the NBA All-Star rookie challenge.
Each team threw down 24 dunks in a game in which both teams were economical with their defense.
Rookie sensations LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony did not disappoint in their first game together. James scored 33 points and hooked up with Anthony on four alley-oop dunks. Anthony scored 17 points.
But they were no match for the second year players. Carlos Boozer and Ronald Murray scored 25 apiece for the second year players, who shot 71 percent in the first half.
The game was a prelim for Sunday's NBA All-Star game.
