The leaves have changed color and the frost is starting to set in…Fall is in the air! And when I think of fall, I think of warm and inviting spices, like cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger, and I'm always looking for new ways to use them. Here are a few recipes to consider if you're looking to spice up your fall!
After a day of apple picking (what a fun fall activity!), how to use those apples is always on my mind. Try a nice Applesauce Oatmeal Cookie which has another fall favorite in it: Cranberries! Another great apple and cranberry dessert is an apple crisp. This one has crystallized ginger, which adds a nice spice to the dish.
Another fun fall activity that I partake in with my family is going to the pumpkin patch. While my siblings prefer to carve the pumpkins, I'd rather use the fresh pumpkin to make some comfort food. Try a pumpkin rice pudding. This recipe has ground cinnamon and ginger, giving it that warm spice taste. Another fantastic dessert that utilizes a lot of fall flavors, like cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and pecans, is pumpkin bread pudding. Keep this recipe in your back pocked and take it with you when you're invited over for Thanksgiving!
