TOWN OF DEERPARK, N.Y. -- A Port Jervis woman was arrested after State Police say she was responsible for causing a serious accident involving a school bus. It happened back in February on State Route 209.
Troopers say c, 31, was driving the school bus when it collided with a car being driven by Justin Maher, 19.
According to troopers, Railo was trying to turn left turn on to Peenpack Trail and hit Maher. Maher was airlifted to the hospital with head injuries. Troopers say there was only one child on the bus at the time, who was not injured.
According to troopers, Railo was arrested Friday and charged with vehicular assault, endangering the welfare of a child, and driving while ability impaired by drugs. She was arraigned and taken to Orange County Jail on $5,000 bail.
