As Opening Day at Saratoga Race Course comes to a close, the nightlife comes alive in downtown Saratoga. As YNN's Erin Moran reports, it's a day that local businesses look forward to all year. She speaks with the owner of Gaffney's Restaurant and Bar on Caroline Street.
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- Racing fans enjoyed opening day at the Saratoga Race Course and after a day of fun in the sun and placing some bets, people are now heading out to take in all the Spa City has to offer.
Restaurants, bars, live music and shopping, the city has it all.
We caught up with people who say they are looking forward to spending Friday night in downtown.
"There are a lot of events. Live music, bars, people everywhere. It is going to be fantastic," one person said.
Another added, "Downtown is a great place to be during the summer. There is a lot happening."
There's lots to see and do this opening weekend. Don't forget the popular Saratoga hat contest is this Sunday. It's a chance for fans to show off their creative side and win prizes too.
