ALBANY, N.Y. -- A local soldier who was wounded in combat will be receiving a different kind of therapy.
Wounded Warrior Cpl. Jeremy Walton will be welcoming the newest addition to his family, a therapy dog named Alana.
Alana is a nine-month-old chocolate lab who has been trained with STRIDE Alumni Warrior, Technical Sergeant Tim McDonough, who recently developed his non-profit organization “Shepard’s for Lost Sheep.”
Experts believe therapy dogs help soldiers recover from injuries they suffered in the military.
