TROY, N.Y. -- The Capital District Community Gardens is getting a boost, thanks to this year's Workforce Team Challenge race.
The program was awarded over $12,000 by CDPHP, along with the Hudson Mohawk Road Runners Club, using money raised from the annual road race.
The organization was chosen because of their mission to provide healthy food options to communities.
"Well the support from CDPHP is going to help us continue to increase our community garden program. We have 50 community gardens in the region and also expand our Taste Good series which is our youth education program that we take into inner city schools and educate young people," said Amy Klein, Executive Director of Capital District Community Gardens.
This not-for-profit organization was one of two charities selected.
