RENSSELAER, N.Y. -- A firefighter was treated for injuries after a fire broke out at the Port of Rensselaer.
Rensselaer Iron and Steel caught fire around 8:45 p.m. Thursday. Rensselaer Fire Chief Phil Faust says the company, which has been around for ten years, routinely sees fires from debris in the area.
Crews brought in ladder trucks to fight the fire from the outside and it took about 70 firefighters to put the flames out. They were able to get the fire under control around 10 p.m.
There is no word on the extent of the injured on the firefighter.
