President Barack Obama hits the road for his next stop at Binghamton University. He departed Auburn just before 10 a.m. YNN's Bill Carey has the latest, ahead of the President's town hall event this afternoon.
AUBURN, N.Y. -- After an early morning workout session at the local YMCA, President Barack Obama boarded the bus to continue his tour of Upstate New York.
After the President made two unscheduled stops yesterday, there were rumors he may be stopping at the Harriet Tubman Home in Auburn. Hundreds gathered outside the home, but were disappointed to find out the President would not be making an appearance.
According to Auburn Mayor Michael Quill, he is honored
"Hopefully it will show people in Central New York that Auburn, New York and Central New York is a great place to visit. Better yet, come to live here," said Quill. "But there is so much going on here and we have trouble getting that word out. So, hopefully that will encourage more people to come see it."
President Obama's town hall event is scheduled for 12:45 p.m. at Binghamton University.
