ALBANY, N.Y. -- Albany firefighters and Mayor Jerry Jennings are once again asking you to "Fill the Boot." The annual campaign helps raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
The initiative is pretty straight forward. Firefighters will be out and about, using their boots to collect cash.
"Most people are generally very receptive. It is nice. We generally see people on their worst day. A fire, EMS call, but we can see them out on the streets and they say thank you to us. Not only for doing our job, but for raising funds for the MDA. It is truly a good thing," said Justin Gershon a firefighter and paramedic for the Albany Fire Department.
All the money raised will go directly to the local MDA.
