ALBANY, N.Y. -- Swinburne Park in Albany was filled with kids and music Friday afternoon. Dozens of children in the area came out to celebrate the end of their summer-long CrossFit Beyond training camp.
The program combines physical workouts with conditioning training and encourages kids to stay active during the summertime.
This year, the Albany County District Attorney helped sponsor the event.
"We have a program called 'Making Crime Pay,' so this year, we thought it would be a great idea to use those resources and partner up with an organization like CrossFit, which they focus on physical fitness and well being and trying to see if we can capture the imagination and competitive nature in children," said Albany County District Attorney David Soares.
Prizes and gifts were given out during the celebration to award kids for their hard work.
