SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- Friday evening, we got a chance to see the new Mont Pleasant Boys and Girls Club.
The charity group Giving 4ward put in the time, talent and just plain hard work to give the 40 year old Boys and Girls Club a facelift. The improvements include a new entrance, new stairs, storage space for kids' things and a new teen center.
The teen center is a safe place where kids can come and do homework, hang out with friends and even record music!
"This club gives these kids such a foundation. Their staff is unbelievable. Some of these kids wouldn't be who they are today if it wasn't for the club. So I'm totally blessed that I was able to do this and blessed that so many people stepped up to the plate," said project manager Darlene Deh.
The Boys and Girls Club serves about 100 kids a day.
