ALBANY COUNTY, N.Y. – We have an update to a story we brought you last week. A Bethlehem high school senior who was raising money for Albany County Sheriff K-9's has reached her goal.
Rachel Piccolino raised $3,000 to buy K-9 bullet proof vests.
Piccolino said her fundraiser reached its goal earlier Tuesday afternoon.
In an interview last week, Sheriff Craig Apple said most times, these dogs the first line of defense when it comes to a dangerous situation, so it's important that they're protected, too.
Piccolino said they will continue to collect money for the cause. If you want to help out, visit www.giveforward.com/fundraiser/stx2/protect-police-paws.
