SULLIVAN COUNTY, N.Y. -- Another pathologist takes the stand on Wednesday in the Paul Novak murder trial.
Dr. Kanjlata Ashar was the forensic pathologist to examine Catherine Novak's body. Ashar said her examination of the body in 2008 determined her ribs were fractured before the fire.
She said Catherine did not inhale any soot or smoke during the fire. Ashar believes Catherine died of asphyxia.
Dr. Wing Chau, the anatomic and clinical pathologist, also testified that Catherine died of asphyxia.
