ALBANY, N.Y. -- ERA is a term that's certainly on the minds of baseball fans this time of year, but one upstate business group is making it all their own with its new agenda.
Unshackle Upstate unveiled its Economic Revitalization Agenda on Tuesday. The group's ERA is designed to lower property taxes and stimulate job growth. The plan includes a number of tax reductions for both businesses and individuals.
The group's leader says their goal is to make New York State a more attractive place to do live and do business.
"When you look at New York State and Upstate New York in particular, we have nine of the10 highest taxed counties as percentage of home value when it comes to property taxes. So clearly it's an issue," said Brian Sampson, Unshackle Upstate Educative Director.
Sampson is encouraging legislative leaders to include the proposal in next year’s budget.
