ALBANY, N.Y. -- Six men were arrested after a number of fights broke out at an event for college students in Albany.
Hundreds were waiting outside a community center Saturday night when one group of people allegedly tried to push their way in past security. Police were called to help clear the crowd outside the building, but after they did, hundreds more inside the venue began to fight. That's when security shut down the event, but more fights then broke out in the parking lot.
There were six arrests during the alleged incident: Isaac Ward, 22, of Poughkeepsie, Jemel Tinsley, 23, of Newburgh, and Eric Daly, 20, of Baldwin, as well as Stanley Ngoka, 17, Pierre Pascal, 21, and Kadeem Richards, 22, all from the Bronx.
The men face numerous charges, including resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, riot and unlawful assembly. All six were arraigned Sunday morning.
