ALBANY, N.Y. -- Travelers who prefer not to wait in line at the airport now have the option to speed up the process.
Beginning on Thursday, the Transportation Security Administration is offering an expedited screening process in 100 airports around the country, including Albany International Airport and Westchester County Airport.
The process allows pre-approved passengers to have access to select screening lanes. Those passengers will also not have to take off their shoes or belts, and can keep their laptops in the case.
The TSA pre-check process is already in place at JFK, LaGuardia, and Newark airports. According to TSA representatives, 15 million Americans have taken advantage of the program since it launched about two years ago.
