COLONIE, N.Y. -- Students started the school year off by learning all about the "iCare" Program at Colonie Central High School.
"iCare" is a program run by students that teaches kids the value of community, accountability, respect and empathy.
This year, the program is focusing on cancer awareness.
"Cancer affects everybody and people die every day from cancer. Everybody knows someone who was affected by cancer in some way. Also, we need to come together as a community," said Colonie High School senior Rachel Tenney.
iCare will participate in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk and other events throughout the school year.
