WYNANTSKILL, N.Y. -- Jack's Drive In celebrated its 75th anniversary on Saturday.
The occasion was celebrated with plenty of specials and a slider eating contest. Dozens of people watched as six contestants battled it out for the eating competition. The winner eat 10 sliders.
According to the owners, they have been able to stay open because of the support from their loyal customers.
"You don't find many open air drive-ins where they come and sit in the picnic area, no indoor dining and that adds to the success and makes it iconic and that's why we haven't changed it," said Joe Deeb, co-owner of Jack's Drive In.
The celebrations continues through Sunday. Customers can order hamburgers and cheeseburgers for just 75 cents.
