NEW YORK STATE -- Dads and father figures will be returning the classroom for a chance to get more involved in their children's lives. It is all part of Dads Take Your Child to School Day.
Several schools across the region are participating in the event. Dads Take Your Child to School Day is a statewide effort to encourage fathers to become more involved in their children's education.
The initiative started in 2006 with just one school, now more than 400 schools are involved. Last year, more than 4,100 dads and caregivers participated across New York State.
According to educators, students have better academic, behaviors, and social sucess with fathers who are active in their lives.
